At Summit View Biological Dentistry & Wellness, we are thrilled to be able to provide this transformative therapy. If you are experiencing anxiety or undertaking a more invasive dental procedure, FLOWpresso in Park City, UT, might be right for you. Many patients ask us about FLOWpresso. So we have put together a list of FLOWpresso FAQs.
What is FLOWpresso?
FLOWpresso is an FDA-cleared, Class II medical device that uses low-level electrical stimulation (LLES) to improve blood circulation. FLOWpresso therapy is clinically shown to increase blood flow in the treated area by up to 400%. FLOWpresso is used by physical therapists, chiropractors, dentists, and other healthcare professionals to treat various conditions.
What Does FLOWpresso Feature?
FLOWpresso is a 3-in-1 system that combines Deep Pressure Therapy, Far-Infrared Therapy, and Compression Therapy.
Deep pressure therapy, also called deep tissue massage, is a type of massage that targets the deep layers of muscle and connective tissue. The pressure is firm and sustained, and the movements are slow and deep. However, pressure can be adjusted to your comfort level.
Far-infrared therapy uses heat to penetrate deep into the tissues, increasing blood flow and helping to reduce pain and inflammation.
Compression therapy uses compression sleeves or bandages to apply pressure to the affected area. The pressure helps to reduce swelling and pain and can be helpful for people who have injuries or inflammation. Compression therapy can also be used to improve circulation.
Combined, it encourages the body’s inner systems to activate, offering many benefits.

What Happens During FLOWpress Session?
Each session runs for about 40-60 minutes. You will arrive at your appointment and be led to the chair or bed by your dental assistant. You do not need to remove your clothes. They will help you get into the suit, which wraps around your legs, midsection, and arms. The suit has tubes on it that are hooked up to a computerized air pressure machine. The suit will inflate with air, and you will feel a squeezing sensation that will feel like pressure, not pain. Each suit component provides compression to enhance blood flow and encourage the tissue’s release of toxins. There is also an infrared option available.
Are the Heat and Pressure Adjustable?
Yes! We will work with you to adjust the heat and pressure to give you the best possible experience. We have the capability of regulating the temperature of far-infrared heat so we can tailor your experience to your individual needs.
Is Everyone a Candidate for FLOWpresso?
No, unfortunately, not everyone qualifies for the use of FLOWpresso. If you are pregnant, have congestive heart failure, high blood pressure, back issues, acute inflammation, a pacemaker, or Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT), or if you are suffering from broken bones or fractures, FLOWpresso will not be right for you. We may ask you to consult your physician before your session.
